I found the registration process straightforward and was invited for an interview within a few days after submitting my application. My consultant gave me advice concerning Private academies, GEPIK and GOE programs. I decided to apply for the GOE program because they welcome new teachers, run workshops to improve teaching skills and also offer a brief orientation. Throughout the latter stage of the document process I worked with various recruiters.
During the orientation I received a lot of support from GOE staff & Mr Wery from Korean Horizons. I learnt that applicants from Korean Horizons seemed more informed and had a stronger network of support even when they were in Korea. Moreover, their accommodation was more suited being a business motel and their fee was much lower.
Mr Wery assisted all applicants on both days of orientation including transport to & from the health centre.
In reflection, I feel Korvia lacked in certain areas given their reputation, and it would have been nice to meet a member of staff in person at the orientation. My experience with them has been okay and I appreciate all those who I worked with. Despite a few setbacks they enabled me to secure a teaching position on time.
I am also grateful for the way GOE staff and Mr Wery helped make the orientation a smooth process.
