Great Experience

I did the Intern Group Hong Kong program the summer between my junior and senior year. I would recommend this program to anyone. It was a great experience that i will never forget.

Intern Group set me up with a great job in a field that i was interested in. The experience of working in a foreign country was invaluable and has definitely helped me in my career.

Hong Kong is a place that everyone should visit, it is a very fun and exciting city with a lot going on. I made a lot of friends and had an amazing time in this program.

Hong Kong Is Where The Cool Kids Go

When I first looked into this Intern Group internship I was skeptical, but once I arrived in the city of Hong Kong I never questioned it again. I gotta say it was the time of my life. I took away with me some invaluable work experience, and made some incredible friendships along the way.

The staff was great, and they really gave us an opportunity to go out on our own and experience what Hong Kong has to offer. Such a unique city with a diverse culture. I would recommend anyone to take the opportunity and do the internship if you can.

Summer of a Lifetime

I did this program summer after my sophomore year in college. It was the perfect combination of a study abroad experience and my first internship experience. The Intern Group created an environment where I felt completely safe and supported, but I could also be very independent. They planned amazing events for us that showed us different parts of Hong Kong but we also had free time to explore on our own.

I made friends from all over the world that I will never forget while making memories that will last forever. This program created the platform for me to begin my professional career, as well as gave me the confidence to know I could made it in the real world after college.

Mind changing experience of living and working in Asia

From the very beginning the Intern Hong Kong team was very professional and helpful. I have traveled a lot, studied my Masters degree abroad and attended numerous language courses across Europe, but my 6 weeks stay in Hong Kong was definitely one of the most comfortable trips i´ve ever made. The Intern HK took care of everything: visa, accommodation, networking events, so basically I was able to concentrate on work and exploring the city. Moreover, from my experience, I could say it actually makes a big difference when you have somebody local willing to help you 24 hours while living in a new country and facing a new culture. It was my first time in Asia, so of course, I was worried before coming to Hong Kong. When you don´t know enough about mentality and lifestyle it could be hard to get around. However, thanks to Intern HK I met so many friends from across the globe and got to visit so many places, so actually Hong Kong felt like a second home for me right from the start. By and large, I enjoyed every moment of my stay and learned a lot about Asian culture, people and business.

The amazing Hong Kong!

Hong Kong is an absolutely amazing city to do an internship at. This city actually never sleeps on any day of the week so the first couple of weeks before settling into the Hong Kong life I didn't sleep either as there is so much to do. All the interns are very friendly and the staff (Steph!!!!!) are really nice. Steph is great and everyone loves her (even her "interesting" dancing).
The actual internship was a great way to learn a lot of things in a very short time. Also its a great way to explore different jobs to see what you enjoy doing or not as you get to do all sorts of jobs that no one else in the company wants to do (I know I never want to do market research ever again). It was also nice working for a small company as you can actually see it progressing a lot over the short internship.

PS. Steph and Yiyan are great

What would you improve about this program?
Work was really far (2h travel everyday) and in the middle of nowhere so it could have been closer. Also I specified I wanted to do some engineering as well as business but that did not happen.
The flats are nice but really dirty (all the corners are black) so an occasional cleaning of the whole flat not just the individual room before arriving would be nice. There is only one set of bedding so you could take them dry cleaning as that takes a whole day so you'd be left with nothing.

Hard to Top

My internship was great - very relevant and helpful, and the IHK staff were often checking that everything was on track in that department. The internship was only half of the experience though of course and even besides the planned excursions we had social events every night within the group. 12 weeks felt like a long time, and maybe was slightly too long for me, but that may have been because I was one of the last from the summer lot to leave so I felt it go from super busy to a much smaller group very quickly. I had an incredible time, and look forward to returning.

What would you improve about this program?
A bit of earlier planning for the excursions - some things felt a bit last minute.

Hi Subramanian! Whether these internships are paid or not is down to each specific placement company! However, their international internships do tend to be unpaid.

Hi Anas, yes recent graduates can apply for our program. Many recent graduates do our program as a way to make their resumes and CVs stand out when applying for jobs after. Plus, it's the perfect way to see a new part of the world before settling into your career.

Hi Sharon, Thanks so much for your question. There aren't any education qualifications other than being at least a high school graduate, for visa purposes. We accept Gap Year students in Hong Kong as well. Check out our website to learn more. www.theinterngroup.com. Best, Danielle

Hi Maya, Thank you for your question. We do provide housing as part of The Intern Group program. Interns on our program live in a private bedroom in a shared apartment. They share the apartment with other interns on the program, young professionals or international students.
