John Cabot University

I had a great experience at John Cabot University. The classes, housing, and safety were as expected. I liked how there were always guards in front of our dorm to ensure safety. Rome was the perfect spot to study abroad. There are so many historical sites and things you would not be able to learn in America. Something I would tell future students is to be very careful in the area as robberies and drugs are unfortunately common. Always stay with someone and try not to be out in the streets too late.

Pros
  • I loved visiting the historical sites
  • Class was very interesting
Cons
  • My friend was drugged and robbed
  • I was a bit uneasy about being put with random roommates

After doing my research I found that John Cabot would ensure I’d have a tremendous time here in Rome , I couldn’t be happier !

Pros
  • Easy to adapt
  • Nice staff
  • Easy to get around from campus to campus
Cons
  • My data science teachers barely spoke English.

John Cabot University

I had a great experience studying abroad in Rome at John Cabot University. I would highly recommend this to any engineering students wanting to study abroad without disrupting their academic progress. The community was very friendly and I always felt safe inside campus buildings and in my apartment. The apartments are reasonably nice and certainly better than the housing at my home university. Rome is centrally located and it is easy to access many different parts of Italy and different European countries in a weekend or less which greatly enhanced my experience.

Definitely worth it

Overall, JCU was a very nice, organized program to be a part of. Everything went smoothly, and issues were resolved quickly. All staff were very nice, the dining hall food is pretty good (but never warm), and email inquiries were answered promptly. My only major complaints are the housing standards of the Trastevere apartments and just the housing process in general.
