College of Liberal Arts

Great Quantitative area, and professors are mostly great and really want you to succeed. However, if you are a study abroad, I'd definitely recommend you to take some courses in Archeology/classics/italian studies in some free slots you have so as to get the full experience. The area the campus is located is very nice and with lots of green. Food in the cafeteria is ok, especially if you consider that the places around colleges are good but extremely expansive. Would definitely recommend to anyone!

Very good school

John Cabot allowed for me to explore Italy and Europe while also having challenging classes to push me academically. It’s a great experience for anyone who wants to study abroad! My professors were extremely nice and helpful and with smaller class sizes, we were able to have more one on one focus with the material. I also enjoyed the campus itself, although it’s an American university in Rome it still heavily included as much Italian as it could so that the students didn’t feel as if they were in just another American University.

I would completely recommend people to go to John Cabot University. I am completely in love with it; it is one of the best universities to study human sciences. Everyone is really nice, the staff is really helpful and the teachers are great. The student life is fun, you get to meet a lot of great people, there is a lot of diversity with students being from all parts of the world. John Cabot also provides great security for staff and students. Also, John Cabot allows you to create an experience in Rome.

Great experience!

Located in the heart of Trastevere one of the trendiest, places in Rome filled with art, food and culture the John Cabot University gave me the opportunity to develop both academical and social. With their onsite courses I was able to go to museums, learn first hand history of the city and enrich my cultural knowledge of the eternal city. My professors had lots of expertise in their respective areas and were very interactive. The tutoring center was really helpful during midterms and finals, I had papers due for both and the professor at the writing center helped me proofread and gave me useful feedback on my essays. The extracurriculars and clubs were a highlight of my semester. JCU has lots of clubs and student activities which are great places to make new friends and do what you like. The student trips were a special time to relax and enjoy all of the wonders of Italy, the guides make sure the trips went smoothly and me and friends had lots of fun.

Pros
  • Great location
  • Professional Professors
  • Good Food
Cons
  • small
  • limited curriculum
  • not enough internships

John Cabot University

There is a lot of inclusivity and activities throughout the campus, this improves the overall experience. A lot of clubs can create a comfortable community for you and help you adjust to life here if you are new to Rome. As a student majoring in Art History, this university is perfect as courses such as the on-site courses enrich your understanding of Rome and the history of art. As well as this there are perfect spaces on campus to focus and do assignments with many resources available. The only issue that I have found is that the one campus often experiences wifi difficulties.

Pros
  • Experiencing Rome
  • On campus activities/ events
Cons
  • Internet connections

John Cabot University

My name is Sara. I am one of the 3 students who undertook the exchange with John Cabot university from Milan state university. I consider the experience at JCU as the best of my life. I have met amazing people and I have never met more helpful professors. All the various opportunities that the university offers are unique and everyone should take advantage of them. The writing center in particular has been a huge help to me, not only during semester deliveries but especially during finals. The classes are unique, focusing on critical engagement and practice rather than theory and learning concepts by heart. I wouldn't change anything except for the difficulty I had with subject conflicts when choosing subjects for Fall 2022. Some subjects only had a 15 minute conflict and it was a shame to pass up some very interesting courses.

Go overseas

I loved it so much, the classes were just extremely time consuming. I love Rome so so so much, i will recommend it to everyone. John Cabot university is a little difficult so I wish I could have had a bit more down time to explore the city. The teachers are super passionate about their topic for class. The school buildings are really pretty and I was out in great housing through JCU. although, my housing was very small it was worth it for the location. I loved being in the neighborhood of trastevere rather than Prati area like some cea students are in.

John Cabot University

I loved the atmosphere of John Cabot. The opennnes of the campus allowed for students to really get to know the area that they live in. The neighborhood was absolutely incredible and the academics we definitely tolerable. They were amazing about academic support for their students. this program is not for someone who wants everything planned out for them because all trips on your own time. However, it is very easy to plan all of your European travels. The housing is a bit confusing with some apartments being farther away
