About Program

We have placed teachers in Korea since 2007 with zero complaints because we at T.E.I.K. (Teach English in Korea) are a husband-and-wife team who have taught, lived, and worked in Korea as ESL teachers and government officials. We pride ourselves on being a boutique recruitment agency that is always focused on our teachers getting the best job opportunity that fits the teacher's qualifications, experience, and preferences.

We are a very laid-back, low-pressure, expat-owned, and run agency. We also live by the motto, “No B.S., No Drama.” If you are not 100% certain that you feel that you would be a great candidate to teach English in Korea, then don't waste both of our time. We only want to work with caring and honest individuals who have an adventurous spirit, love to travel, and meet new people. We will assist with gathering visa documents, the visa process, placement, arrival to Korea, and continued support during your full year in Korea.

Can’t recommend enough!

I cannot recommend TEIK enough! I have always wanted to come and teach in Korea and they made that dream happen. Any concerns I had before coming were answered quickly and with great detail! The director of my school actually mentioned that I had found a great recruiter- so I think a lot of the reason I got the job I did was because of Bradley! The visa process to become a teacher in Korea is very complicated so having a good recruiter to help you through it is super important! TEIK also gave me a couple schools to choose from so I could pick the one that suited me the best. Don’t hesitate to contact them if you want to teach in Korea!

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Do your research before you come! Contact the teachers at your school with any questions you have to make sure it’s the right school for you.
Pros
  • Bradley answered all my questions quickly and in such detail!

So much fun!

I live in busan and it is wonderful! Such wonderful people and always something fun to do! My coworkers are so nice and we go out to eat frequently. I’ve been able to travel all around Korea, and the memories I have made will last forever. I still have 11 months left, and I have so many plans with my new friends and traveling has been so much fun. Seoul, and busan have both been fun, and I want to travel to other cities next. Perhaps Daegu and incheon. I have had so much support from friends and family as well!

What was your funniest moment?
When my coworkers and I decided to go to seomyeon on a whim. I don’t remember anything besides sitting in a McDonald’s at 5 am

Such a great service

Would recommend for anyone interested in teaching overseas. Brad was so helpful and responsive. He gave good advice. He hosts regular networking events to help you forge connections that will help down the line. I made so many new friends I could talk to for support during my time here. The events he hosts are very well organized and engaging. He always goes out of his way to make everyone comfortable. He made the application process very smooth and answered any difficult questions with full honesty.

Can’t recommend enough!!

If you’re considering coming to Korea to teach English - go for it!! I cannot recommend TEIK enough! From start to finish Bradley was an incredible recruiter. He provided support from the begging of the application process all the way until we received our visas and our trip to Korea was fully confirmed. Also, my friend and I planned to come together and TEIK found us schools that allow friends and couples to come together - if this is something you’re looking into, it’s totally possible. His support was super fast and helpful and I credit him with allowing me to fulfil my dream of coming to Korea. Highly recommend TEIK and a huge thank you to Bradley!

Love it!

Yumi was great with getting me a placement! She really helped me feel safe with such a big move. Bradley is awesome at making sure all the new teachers feel safe and supported both before and after the job starts. They're great at making sure you have all the information you need. I especially love the networking events they have. It's a great opportunity to meet other expats around Korea and make new friends. I'm sure they will continue to hell me through my adventure in Korea and to find another job if I want one after my contract is over.

You should T.E.I.K. with TEIK!

My husband (a public school teacher in the US) and I had wanted to teach abroad for a while. Search Associates was not an option for us since I was not a teacher before moving to Korea. Bradley and the TEIK team made moving abroad as a couple very easy. For a job placement in Aug/Sep, we contacted Bradley in Jan/Feb and promptly had a video call with him and interviews with 2 academies near Seoul. You don't have to prepare so far in advance (Bradley has many tricks on his website for expediting things), but you can check out TEIK's website even earlier for more info on the documents that you will need and the timeline for those. Bradley was super prompt when responding to our many questions, including many questions regarding my recent name change. We were able to get a very nice apartment, bigger than most since we are a couple, right next to our school. This is not a guarantee for all couples but overall TEIK was really great to work with as a couple moving abroad!

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
The TEIK team organizes your flight arrangements, and I think it's okay if you need to ask for more options. The two flight options they sent us were okay, but one only allowed one free checked bag each, and the other had a very short layover. We ended up prioritizing the 2 free check bags option but we missed our second flight due to a delay on the first. It was rescheduled smoothly but I'm sure this could have been avoided if we asked their travel arranger to try to find another flight option. We were just very eager to finalize our details but remember that it is their job and they are happy to get you to Korea smoothly!
Pros
  • Knowledgeable
  • Prompt
  • Helpful
Cons
  • Your school might not have a solid training plan in place
  • You need to just roll with the punches when dealing with your Korean academy management :)
  • The students are worked VERY hard so be prepared for a rigorous curriculum

Suwon school

Bradley was very helpful in the search for a school for me and my wife. He highlighted the differences between small and large cities, and helped us settle on Suwon. I feel we are getting the large city experience without living in Seoul.
Overall, our experience has been overwhelmingly positive, largely due to Bradley’s dedication. If you're considering teaching English abroad, I highly recommend this program. It offers exceptional support and an enriching adventure in South Korea.
I recommend everyone to research their schools and get in contact with foreign teachers that work there before making a final decision.

What was the most surprising thing you saw or did?
